Quiet Portraits

Digital paintings with scanned brush strokes

When I was very ill, I found myself unable to leave bed for weeks or months at a time. I could feel time passing, and the isolation and lack of practice concerned me. I could only really move my wrist, and worked in fits and starts. I did some small and simple portraits of friends and family during this time, painted using a tablet and a stylus as traditional paints and brushes were too physically heavy for my body to support. These are some of those portraits.
